This is a concern that many enterprises are currently facing. Customized furniture for five-star hotels is not as simple as it seems. Focusing solely on fashion, cost savings, while neglecting the utilization of hotel space and the living habits of different guests, will all lead to the failure of the original plan.

The furniture in five-star hotels is diverse. According to the functional divisions within the hotel, the furniture in public areas is for guests to rest, including sofas, chairs, coffee tables, etc.; the furniture in the dining area includes dining tables, dining chairs, bar tables, coffee tables and chairs, etc.; the furniture in guest rooms includes beds, bedside tables, sofas, coffee tables, desks, chairs, and wall cabinets for storing items, etc. The more luxurious and upscale the hotel is, the more types of furniture with social functions it has. Economy hotels have simpler functions and relatively fewer types of furniture.
When designing furniture for a five-star hotel, several aspects must be taken into consideration:
1. Appearance quality
The appearance quality of furniture requires that the tabletop be flat, the workmanship be fine, the decoration be delicate, and the texture be clear and beautiful. Furniture for five-star hotels usually uses materials such as particle board, medium-density fiberboard, fine wood plywood, and laminated board as the base material, and uses thin wood, wood veneer, and three-layer board as the covering material. Different base materials and covering materials have different material properties, and if the material characteristics and correct usage methods are not paid attention to, the board pieces often warp. It is recommended that the structural characteristics of the covering material on the back and front of the board pieces must be the same or similar, and the moisture content of the base material is generally required to be 6-10%. The selected materials should be as much as possible from the same batch. During workshop processing, try to shorten the time from loading materials to the press machine. Different material properties, different covering material moisture contents, pay attention to different glue application speeds, white wax thickness, press machine time and pressure.
2. Structural Strength
The furniture in five-star hotels is mostly fixed furniture. The main structure is panel type, and wood screws, hardware connectors and adhesives are used as joining methods. When using materials, attention should be paid to the different material characteristics. For example, particle board and medium-density board have poor nail retention force and should not be used in areas that require frequent movement or strong nail retention force, such as the screw parts of door hinges and drawer rails, which are prone to loosen and make noise. For the hardware hanging parts on the bed screen and mirror frame on the wall, special attention should be paid or wood should be used for reinforcement. Currently, the popular structure is the 45-degree inverted wooden square structure.
3. Material Costs
When the usage requirements are met, try to use materials with lower costs. While using large pieces of material, also pay attention to the use of small pieces of the same material to comprehensively increase the utilization rate of the panels. The furniture in five-star hotels is usually in large quantities. Try to use computerized reasonable layout for the materials. Make full use of both large pieces and small pieces of materials to reduce material costs. For different structures, pay attention to comparing the material costs.
